A Matter of Marriage

Lately I have came across an amazing talented tv show host, comedian, actress by the name of Ellen Degeneres (I’m pretty sure a lot of you might have heard of her) Although my views of her being a homosexual are not favourably in agreement, I cannot ignore her eagerness to getting married with her now-spouse, Portia de Rossi.

A question: why is it that gays and lesbians (etc) are so eager to getting married with their spouses to the point that they would pressure governments to change their laws so that they can legally be married?

and when I reflect on heterosexuals, common law- ing (living together) is becoming more common nowadays between couples. When asked for their views on “marriage", their responses are usually the following:

marriage is:

1. just a “paper/certificate" to prove to others they are together/love each other
2. unnecessary
3. just a marketing scheme
4. unimportant
5. …etc

As we advance to a newer generation, common law is becoming more and more common with heterosexual couples… have they (heterosexuals) have already taken for granted to having the opportunity to getting married and be legally married that they simply no longer care and do not see the importance?

 Think about it!

just be yourself!

I wondered what happened when you offered yourself to someone, and they opened you, only to discover you were not the gift they expected and they had to smile and nod and say thank you all the same.
