Over the years, I learned that there is a simple test to see whether you are an optimist or a pessimist.

The test “shows" you a cup of water. And the “subject" determines whether it is half full or half empty.

If you say it is half full, then you are supposingly an optimist, and if you say it is half empty, then you are supposingly a pessimist.

I cannot say whether this test is accurate or not, however, I feel shouldn’t the question be “does the subject want water, does he/she like water?" before you can take the test.

Supposingly, if the subject were to “hate" water (or not in need of water at that time) saying that glass is half empty doesn’t prove the person to be a pessimist, because they simply aren’t pessimistic about only having half a cup left.

Fairness

What is fairness? Can someone decide what is being fair?

1. Everyone getting the same treatment

                      or

2. Everyone getting what they want.

or to put it simply:

Let’s pretend there was a party, there was 10 people at that party and one cake to share
which sounds fair?

1. Everyone gets an equal one slice of cake

                      or

2. Those who want to eat get a slice (size of their choice), and those who do not want to eat may just pass.

in a government setting

1. The government treats everyone equally, no matter who you are you get the same treatment (democracy)

2. The government tends to everyone’s needs

Prayers

When we pray only 2 things happen:

1. our prayers are answered immediately

2. our prayers are not answered (either not right now or never)

These are reactions that some Christians tend to do is:

1. when our prayers are answered immediately, they praise God, Praise Him as to how AMAZING He is
I can associate with this, because we feel blessed, God has given us what we wanted.

BUT have we also considered that there might be another reason why He would “grant" that prayer such as to give us a lesson…?

2. When are prayers are not answered (immediately or never) we give excuses for God
Like: it is not the right moment, He has something better planned, He wants us to be patient, etc.

sometimes I just want to say BS! Instead of giving God “excuses" shouldn’t we try to ask Him for an answer directly? If we are mad, shouldn’t we express these feelings as how David did in Psalms? I do not think that any anger not let out will help our faith and relationship with God, in fact, it will resurface sooner or later when something that hits our 汛

Freedom of speech

I find it absolutely ridiculous …. the TDSB (Tornot District School Board)

What were they thinking…?

1. It is ok to freely talk about being LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual,

2. It is alright to talk about Islamic beliefs, Buddhism beliefs… etc

but why can’t those wish to celebrate Christian holidays also? Why must Christmas be refered to as “Happy Holidays" and it is wrong to say Merry Christmas?

What does freedom of speech mean?

Pray for those…

While we are worrying about being late for work, getting a promotion or getting good seats at a concert or movie,or whether we can get a new toy… there are others who are suffering in hospitals waiting to be healed and others who are mourning over their lost of family members, friends and health (especially this week).

As our world is changing… we never know what will happen when we wake up tomorrow… things that we took for granted today might be lost.

I am absolutely heartbroken by the events which have happened in the past week… let’s pray for those who are suffering in YaAn (雅安), Boston and Texas. And may those who are not with us any longer, Rest in Peace!
